THANK YOU!

THANK YOU CED 2010-2011!

It has been a very productive and enjoyable year for the members of the CED community. Our book discussions and speaker events highlighted the intellectual rigor and energy of Northwestern faculty and graduate students, and showcased the CED community's commitment to ethnic studies, postcolonial studies, critical race, diasporic studies, transnational studies, and critical American studies.

We certainly hope this year's CED programming was beneficial for your own scholarly endeavors and interests, and perhaps provided a professional and social space for those of us doing interdisciplinary work on matters of ethnicity, race, diaspora, and (im)migration. Please continue to support CED programming in the years to come. There are many colloquia and reading groups on campus, and we thank you for being a part of this specific intellectual community.

We want to thank Professor Gary Y. Okihiro of Columbia University, Professor Evelyn Hu-DeHart of Brown University, Professor Frances Aparicio of Northwestern University, Professor E. Patrick Johnson of Northwestern University, Professor Nitasha Sharma of Northwestern University, and Professor Jose Limon of University of Notre Dame for speaking at various CED programming this past academic year. Thank you to everyone who came to the speaker series and to the book discussions.

On a final note: please encourage graduate students in your Department to consider applying for CED 2011-2012. Please contact Jinah Kim at
jinah-kim@northwestern.edu for further questions. Have a fabulous rest of the academic year!

Sincerely,
James and Phonshia
